Finding Inspiration
Inspired people make great entrepreneurs. That’s because they aren’t afraid to admit that they don’t know everything (and sometimes that they don’t know anything). They open their minds to learning and don't presume they can ever quit learning.
Seeking education, wisdom, and knowledge from others is essential to the entrepreneurial process. You don't have to have the best website or the most amazing content of all time. You simply need to be able to make an authentic connection with others, truthfully communicate your ideas, and find people to help you with the things that they’re better at than you are.
Here are a few of my favorite learning resources:
Simon Sinek is my go-to whenever I feel stuck in my own business. His inspiring podcasts, books and websites help me remember the why behind everything I am doing, and that an "infinite mindset" will always be better than holding onto old patterns and ways of doing things.
I consider Seth Godin to be the master of marketing, so it’s a no-brainer that so many turn to him for new ideas and inspiration. Just about anything in selling you want to do, he's probably already done.
I love Bill Bernbach! He was the master of simplicity and creating a story that leaves people dying to know the ending – journeys where other people want to tag along.
Starting a business is more manageable with Chris Do, creator of The Futur. Chris helps creatives to make a living doing what they love by offering workshops, mastermind groups, and online seminars that make the business side of being creative more accessible.
If you invest in learning on a personal and professional level, not only will you have an enriching experience, but you’ll have a much better chance of defining yourself as a leader. As Gandhi himself once said, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
